One crazy question was asked in a city that was being visited by a creator who was asking strangers whether he could stay in their homes for 24 hours. Everybody laughed, everybody said, “No, no, no;” everybody walked away awkwardly. But one college student suddenly accepted, and it was a whole day of spending time with strangers. The subsequent events involved sneaking into a sold-out show, spending the night at a stranger’s apartment, late-night strolling, and a heaving university party weekend.
Most Strangers Immediately Said No

At first, nearly everyone rejected the idea of letting a stranger stay with them, often citing family, roommates, lack of space, or safety concerns.
One Student Unexpectedly Agreed

All this has changed when a student, without any hesitation, takes up the challenge and even agrees to introduce the creator to his friends and invite him to participate in their plans that night.
A Group Adventure

The creator didn’t just crash at someone’s house, but instead spent the entire day with an entire friend group consisting primarily of engineers.
They Tried Sneaking

The group failed to get him into the packed engineering comedy show because the creator didn’t have a ticket, so they tried getting him into the show by pretending they were filming content for a university newspaper.
Sneaking Attempt Initially Failed

The staff members don’t allow him to go in for the show, so he stays outside and waits alone, while the people go in for the show. One of the friends found him an empty seat near the front, and he sneaked into the sold-out show after the intermission.
Staying Overnight

Later that night, the group returned to Omar’s apartment, and the creator commented on his shock of waking up and sleeping inside the home of someone he’d only met hours before.
The Final Stop

The following day, the group set off for Waterloo in hopes of enjoying the legendary St. Patrick’s Day festivities in the city, but the police had blocked off much of the town to block any large gatherings.
One Simple Question

Random social experiment became an unforgettable 24-hour adventure based on trust, spontaneity, and the willingness of strangers to say yes.
