Fashion Trends from 2016 That Are Making a Resurgence This Year

Fashion is weird in that it goes round in a circle when it is least anticipated. Items that were folded away in the back of curious closets are beginning to make a comeback in the limelight. Many of the looks of today may be influenced by the year 2016, which is an inspiring year vis-à-vis some and a different era vis-à-vis others. Denim jeans, fun accessories, and things that used to dominate the social feed are gradually returning to the shops and in the streets. It can be nostalgia, warmth or even just the back and forth of the trends themselves repeating. It does not matter what the reason is, the old trends are coming back with little changes without necessarily losing the same inimitable 2016 tone.

Chokers

The chokers seem to be making a comeback into jewelry collections. After being attached to nearly any dress, they appear a little upscale. Minimal designs may be substituting bolder versions from the past with simple black bands, delicate chains, and minimal designs.

Slip dresses

Slip dresses are returning to daily fashion without commotion. What might have been daring is now so easy and uncontaminated. They could be worn over tees or with lightweight cardigans and could be considered a subtle nod to that previous minimalist movement.

Statement sleeves

The statement sleeves may be returning with a soft impact. Bell sleeves and overstated cuffs appear to be resurfacing this time around, maybe with less drama than ever. The appearance does not overwhelm an outfit but adds some character to it.

Distressed denim

Stress jeans seem to be on the rotational list. Tears and worn-out skirts could not be as dramatic as they used to be; still, the carefree sensation is present. This time around it could be fancied in a more refined style.

Metallic accents

Subtly, metallic accents appear to be glowing. Rather than all-metal outfits, it may be the handbags, shoes, or minute details that do the job. The light is less glaring, yet it is noticeable.

Lace-Up details

In 2016, lace-ups were present in tops and shoes. They appear to be making a comeback in a more watered-down form now. The ornamentation may not be too tiresome to the general appearance.

Patchwork designs

Patchwork might be in a silent resurrection. Stitched patterns and mixed fabrics seem to be recreated with cleaner lines. It retains a certain creative touch but perhaps can be more comfortable to wear in daily contexts.

Oversized sunglasses

Big sunglasses are returning into the limelight. The huge frames used to make bold statements, and today a similar shape, perhaps with new feelings, is emerging. Even the most basic outfit is still given the necessary degree of drama by them.

Long cardigans

The trend of reappearing trends is long cardigans as a do-not-need-to-size piece. They were nearly all uniform in the cooler months in 2016. They can now be cut in more acute fundamentals, with a sort of a new air.
