The Bible Is Full Of Major Questions That It Never Answers

The Bible has been read, reread, discussed and valued for thousands of years. It is a source of direction, solace, and purpose to many. But as it fills its students with great tales and lessons to remember, it leaves them with silent places as well. Some information appears to be leaking out. Some moments raise eyebrows. There are those who make an attempt to pique curiosity, but not in full. It may be such that these gaps are not meant to be sealed, but rather to think but not to be sure. Or maybe they are just researchers of the old storytelling. Anyhow, the questions left unsolved are among the reasons behind what makes the Bible still relevant to discussions over generations.

What happened during the silent years

There seems to be a long period between the actions of the Old and New Tests, which receives relatively little direct attention. It could be true that there were many things done in the cultural and political scene, but the biblical account is generally silent on the same.

The details of creation’s timeline

The first chapters of Genesis narrate how the world was created in very poetic lines. Nevertheless, the questions on timing and sequence still emerge. The only question that some readers may ask is whether the days were real, symbolic, or a combination of the two.

The origin of some ancient cities

Such locations as Sodom and Gomorrah are presented in dramatic tones. But their more historical backdrop has not been exhausted. Perhaps, it is still centered on moral issues and not on geographical/cultural peculiarities.

Cain’s wife and the early populations

Cain marries and constructs a city after departing from his family. Who his wife is and what other people are is natural. There are no specific descriptions in the text.

The exact nature of angels

Angels are mentioned in Scripture in many shapes and in several ways. But their genesis, order, and entire intent are not described in detail. Their mystery may be such that their spiritual meaning is strengthened.

Jesus’ childhood years

The Gospels give us a glimpse of the birth of Jesus and an episode of his time of youth. Then there is silence, after which he starts his public ministry many years later. Those experiences in the early years have not been well documented.

The specifics of the end times

The Book of Revelation talks of a bright picture of the future. But its signs and chronologies tend to be open to various meanings. Perhaps it was to inspire hope and not to give a detailed schedule.

The role of dreams and visions

Dreams and visions throughout the Bible make critical decisions. The mechanism of their occurrence is, however, not clearly explained. Their definition tends to play out slowly, even without being clarified comprehensively.

God’s silence in certain moments

Occasionally, individuals in the Bible scream, and no one responds to them. The causes of such stretches are not always addressed. This may be interpreted by some as an invitation to patience or thought.

Why do some stories end abruptly

There are a number of biblical stories that appear to end without a nice closure. There are questions as to what happened next. It may happen that these open endings stimulate the readers to continue the story in their own lives.
